Three updates published on 25 September offer practical driving information, an early festive date for the diary and news from Larnaca’s beachfront.
1. Allow extra time for journeys around Paphos

A Public Works Department notice sets out road maintenance for the coming week. On the A6 near Kouklia, Paphos-bound traffic will use a contraflow section on 28 and 30 September and 2 October, during works scheduled for 08:00–16:00. On 29 September, work there will instead close part of the slow lane.
Also on 29 September, repairs near the Mesogi junction on the Paphos–Polis road are scheduled for 06:00–17:00. Both directions remain open with local diversions until 09:00; afterwards, an approximately 600-metre section closes, with traffic diverted via the old Mesogi road.
Why it matters to visitors: Leave extra time for airport transfers and day trips, and follow the temporary road signs.
2. A Christmas village is planned at the Presidential Palace grounds

An official announcement on 25 September sets 19–20 December 2026, 11:00–20:00, for “Christmas at the Presidential Palace” in Nicosia. The event will use the palace’s small theatre and surrounding grounds, with seasonal activities and Cypriot products and crafts.
The announcement invites participating businesses; it is not a visitor booking form. Admission arrangements and a detailed visitor programme should be checked when further information is released.
Why it matters to visitors: Travellers planning a December stay can note a family-friendly festive stop in the capital.
3. Finikoudes cleanup highlights new beach-maintenance equipment

Students, local organisations and visitors took part in a cleanup at Larnaca’s Finikoudes beach on 25 September, ahead of World Tourism Day. A newly acquired municipal sand-cleaning machine was also demonstrated and will help maintain the city’s beaches.
This is news about beach care—not a new seawater-quality award or bathing-water test result.
Why it matters to visitors: It highlights practical work to care for a popular urban beach and a simple way everyone can help: take litter away after a visit.
